Why Canoe Counselling?
A canoe is a two-person boat
There's a phrase that goes: 'What's the closest crocodile to your canoe?'
In other words, what is it that's worrying you? Is there something feeling overwhelming or that scares you? Something happening now or in your past that keeps you from going where you want to on your journey through life?
That's your crocodile.
It might be really close by in the water, and every time you try to sleep it's ready to pounce. Or it might be a long way away, but you KNOW it's still out there...
Perhaps there's more than one crocodile and you don't know where to start to pick a way through them all?
Thankfully, a canoe is a two-person boat.
At Canoe Counselling, the idea is that I join you in the canoe, and we work through these things together, through counselling therapy. We go at your pace, in the direction you want to go, and towards the destination you choose. I'm there as your psychotherapist to help, guide and support you in the journey. for as long as we feel is right.
I'm happy to work with whatever topics and problems you choose to bring to therapy, and specialise in working with military families (over 18) and veterans, as well as people seeking a Christian counsellor. Although I am based in Lincolnshire, I offer online therapy, so geography is not a limitation!
